Bobby Glover, age 83, was born on March 11, 1939 in Millerton, OK to Archie and Anna Bell (Griffin) Glover. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Glover, sister, Betty Eures; nephew, Kevin McDonald and a friend that was like a brother to him, Dewey Box.

Bobby was a Valliant High School graduate, Class of 1957. His wife was 15 years old when he met her at the Assembly of God in Wright City, OK in 1959. They were married on her 18 ^th birthday, April 2, 1961. They were married for 61 years and had one daughter, Angela. Bobby was a general contractor, opening his own business in 1961 and retiring in 1997. During that period, he constructed most of the commercial buildings in Valliant, which include the Valliant School Auditorium and Gymnasium Complex, the First State Bank, the Valliant Telephone Company, and the First Baptist Church. There were also large projects in the county, including the Haworth Auditorium, Broken Bow Auditorium, National Guard Armory, Hugo Agriplex and Antlers Jail. Several buildings were constructed for the Weyerhaeuser Company in Wright City and Valliant.

Bobby was actively involved in community projects in his hometown of Valliant. He spent a considerable amount of time upgrading Valliant Park. Several pieces of playground equipment were purchased and installed in the park by him. In addition, he worked hundreds of hours on the gymnasium at the Rock Gym. In addition to serving on many boards, he was a member of the McCurtain Excise Board, the Jail Trust, McCurtain Hospital and Kiamichi Medical. As an outstanding alumnus and Citizen of the Year, he was recognized by his peers. Upon retirement, he served as a Reserve Deputy for the McCurtain County Sheriff's Department. He also served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon for the First Baptist Church. Bobby loved taking trips to deer camp with his best friends, Dewey Box and Bill Tyler. He also enjoyed road trips with his wife and there were only six states they did not visit. His favorite state was New York, where he could visit his daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law. Bobby never encountered a stranger he did not like. It was not difficult for him to initiate a conversation with anyone. There was never a time when he did not try to help someone in any way that he could.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Myra of Valliant, OK; daughter, Angela Gitner and husband, Seth and their daughter, Sadye of Syracuse, NY; sister, Glenda McDonald of Valliant, OK; sister-in-law, Carolyn Byrd and husband, Palmer of Valliant, OK; his church family at First Baptist Church; special friends, The Dewey Box Family, Mike Strickland and Bill Tyler; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
