Beverly Raye (Staggs) Cockrell was born February 14, 1957, the daughter of Jim and Wilma Joyce (Scarborough) Staggs in Farmington, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, Robert Daryl Cockrell, and her granddaughter, Serenity McAdoo.

Beverly was a resident of Valliant, Oklahoma for the past four years. She worked for many years as a millwright in the construction industry, where she was described as hardworking, just, and thorough – personality traits that remained true to her, her entire life. And while her coworkers may have known her as such, her family and friends knew her as much more. Beverly was sweet, giving, and deeply devoted to her sons and her late husband. And though she experienced many hardships throughout her life, it only increased her strength in her faith to God, believing in signs shown to us here on this earth of His higher power.

Beverly's world was not black and white. Her life experiences and travel gave her a well-rounded mindset – and she was filled with many personal opinions, but never judgmental. She was an excellent listener, understanding that each of us have our own experiences and stories to tell. She had the ability to make those around her feel welcomed and seen. And as close family and friends know, if she opened to you in return, you could be entertained for hours, as she had many stories to share, all of them delivered with excitement, sass and gusto.

Beverly loved spending time with her family, particularly her parents, siblings, children, and grand and great grandchildren. Simply being in the room listening, and watching family dynamics unfold around her, could be enough to fill her heart with joy. Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions were special to her. Family reunions were a necessity to her. And when she partook in these things, she would never enter the room until she was ready to be fully present for those around her.

Beverly left us far too soon and far too unexpectedly. But unlike a good television series, which she was always deeply invested in, she tied up her loose ends. Loved ones have never been left to question where they stood in Beverly's life. She was not private in this way. She was loud and proud in this way; informing parents, siblings, children and grandchildren frequently of her unconditional love for them.

Beyond television and loved ones, Beverly was a dog lover through and through, finding company and purpose in caring for them. She was a history and pop culture buff. She was both a collector and a creator of keepsakes, leaving handwritten notes of affection for loved ones around her house or theirs, to be found after she had already gone. She was funny and quirky, in the most endearing sense of the term, often referring to her two late chihuahuas as the "chihuahua brigade," or calling to them as Shania Twain once sang, "let's go girls!"

Beverly was one of a kind. And though the pain of her passing will not soon fade or be forgotten, family and friends find peace in knowing that she was swiftly welcomed home by God, her mother, her husband, and her granddaughter.

Beverly is survived by her sons, David McAdoo, and James McAdoo and his wife, Myranda; her 4 grandchildren Mikayla, McKenzie, Joscilynn, and Evelyn; 4 great grandchildren, Zayden, Karter, Ryker, and Tylan; her stepdaughters, Robbie Shuck and Rebecca Clouse; her father, Jim Staggs and her stepmother, Irma; as well as her 2 brothers, Ron Scarborough and Dana Scarborough, and 3 sisters, Susan Scarborough, Anita Kay Smith, and Sandy Johnson; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
