Benny James, age 77, was born on December 16, 1945 in Wright City, OK the son of Clifton James and Clara Mae (Blount) James. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lewis James, Sam James and Wayne James; and sister, Barbara Ann James.

Benny married the love of his life, Terrie Ann Cody on October 2, 1963 in Felker, OK. He was a lifelong resident of the Felker area and was a member of the Felker Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Benny was an avid outdoors man. He loved running his deer dogs, hunting, fishing and spending time in the hills. Benny and his family even had a name for their deer camp, "The Hornets' Nest", where they made a lot of good memories. He was a man that was known for never meeting a stranger and loved cutting up to make people laugh. Benny's greatest joy in life truly was his family and spending time with them brought him so much joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Benny is survived by his loving wife, Terrie; son, Shannon James and wife, Melissa; daughter; Amanda Morehead and husband, Barry; grandchildren, Bradley Morehead, Brayden Morehead, Tanner James and Taylor James; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Smith; brother in law, Lyn Cody; along with a host of other friends, family and loved one.
