Annie Fayrene "Dolly" Wall Davis Tate passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Known simply and lovingly as "Dolly," she leaves behind a profound legacy of compassion and generosity that touched countless lives.

Born on April 26, 1935, in Spencerville, Oklahoma, to Otha and Willie Mae Wall, Dolly grew up during the Great Depression, a time of hardship that shaped her remarkable character. Those early years taught her resilience, selflessness, and a deep sense of duty to others. She shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved brothers—Buddy, Billy, and Tommy Wall—remaining close and devoted throughout their lives.

She married Howard Wynn Davis, with whom she had three children: Dian Davis Johnson, Susan Davis Feller, and Howard Wynn Davis, Jr. Dolly was a devoted mother who led with love and gentle discipline. She taught her children to be respectful, responsible, kind, and generous.

After her first husband's passing, she found lasting love again with Billy Earl Tate, her devoted husband of 38 years. Their marriage was full of adventure, laughter, and mutual devotion. Billy was warmly embraced by her children as a second father.

A highly skilled seamstress, Dolly brought joy to countless people through the personalized gifts she lovingly created. Her handmade  "Burden Bears", offered to those in need of comfort, were especially meaningful to her, and they became cherished symbols of her empathy and care.

Dolly was also a Girl Scout leader, 4-H supporter, and a respected figure in the lives of many young people. She had a unique way of making children feel safe, seen, and inspired. Many consider her a lifelong role model.

While running the Davis General Store in Swink, Oklahoma, alongside her husband, Fuzzy, Dolly became a cornerstone of her community, seeing to the needs of generations of residents. Later, as a young widow, Dolly founded T&D Appliances in Hugo, Oklahoma, once again pushing the envelope as a trailblazing woman business owner in a male-dominated business. Her mission went far beyond selling quality appliances at fair prices. Dolly believed in giving people a chance when they needed it most. She often extended credit from her own resources to customers going through hard times, helping families furnish their homes and get back on their feet with dignity. Her store was not just a business, it was a continuation of her lifelong calling to uplift others, quietly and generously.

One of her proudest achievements came early in life, when she restored a neglected ranch into a thriving showplace. She did so through tireless effort, working the ranch during the day, and educating herself at night by reading books on animal husbandry, commercial crop growing, and ranch management, all while raising three children. Her intelligence and perseverance culminated in her receiving the prestigious "Rancher of the Year" award—the first time a woman had ever received the honor.

Dolly adored her son-in-law, Gary Johnson, with all her heart. He was not just family to her, but a trusted companion, source of laughter, and a man she deeply respected and appreciated every day.

She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Earl Tate; daughters Dian Davis Johnson and Susan Davis Feller; grandchildren Brian Johnson and Lacrecia Johnson; brothers Buddy Wall and Billy Wall; her dear son-in-law Gary Johnson; and a wide circle of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Wynn Davis; her son Howard Wynn Davis, Jr.; her parents Otha and Willie Mae Wall; and her brother Tommy Wall.

Following the service, Dolly will be laid to rest beside her first husband, Howard Davis, in Valliant, Oklahoma.
