Alvis Leo Donaldson, 80, passed on from this life on May 28, 2026, in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born on January 30, 1946, in Valliant, Oklahoma, the son of Roland Stone Donaldson and Alice (Gardner) Donaldson. Alvis was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy Donaldson; sisters, Vivian Alexander and Joyce Ainsworth.

Alvis was a lifelong resident of McCurtain County, Oklahoma and was raised in the Mt. Zion community, southeast of Valliant on East Baker Road alongside his seven siblings. He valued hard work from a young age, starting at 15 years old working for a local rancher driving a tractor, putting up hay and doing ranch work then later at the Wright City Weyerhaeuser Mill (Dierks) in the 12th grade.  Alvis was a graduate of Valliant High School, Class of 1964 and soon got drafted into the US Army shortly after graduating. He honorably served a two-year term and was stationed in Panama. After Alvis's honorable discharge, he returned to McCurtain County where he worked as a logger and truck driver for many years. Alvis truly enjoyed driving his very own truck and made many lifelong friends throughout the years.

Alvis found peace in nature, where he felt most at home. Whether he was out hunting in the early morning hours, casting a line into the water, or taking a ride on his four-wheeler, he truly loved being outdoors. Above all else, Alvis loved going for rides on his motorcycle. He appreciated the open road, and it was something he truly enjoyed.

Alvis is survived by his family; sisters, Edith Donaldson of Valliant, OK, Kathie Fennell and husband, Harvey of Valliant, OK, Carolyn Mussett of Garvin, OK and Deb Donaldson of Garvin, OK; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
